I also used some of that left over furniture to begin a new dollhouse hutch. This one with a Christmas theme. I'll post pictures of the finished product when it's done.

Christmas Hutches
I've been spending a lot of time on Pinterest getting ideas for future projects and have decided to make a Christmas dollhouse. Actually it is a hutch that I have converted into a dollhouse. So far it is turning out rather cute. Here are a couple miniature hutches I made to go in the Christmas dollhouse. I'm especially proud of the one inch scale hutch with a quarter inch scale miniature scene inside it. It has been no end of fun coming up with ideas. I'll post pictures of the final project when it is finally finished. Maybe it will be done in time for next Christmas.

New 1:144 Scale Dollhouse Miniature Dollhouse
I own so many dollhouses now that I don't really have room for any more full sized dollhouses. That's why I have begun collecting and creating smaller scale dollhouses--which don't need a lot of room. Especially 1:144 scale dollhouses which are REALLY tiny. They are so small they fit in the palm of your hand and are usually used when you want a dollhouse in your dollhouse. Of course, I've discovered that finding quality furniture for dollhouses this small is extremely difficult. You either have to make it yourself from scratch or pay big bucks for a piece made by a true artist.
One of those true 1:144 scale artists is a woman named Nell Corkin. If you have not seen her work before, click this link to see a few examples of her amazing work. Well, I recently saw that Nell had some of her fantastic furniture up for sale on her website and could not resist buying some. Then I quickly realized that I was in trouble because, you can't have a bedroom set with no dollhouse to put it into. If you look back over past posts on this blog you will see that I have made many small scale dollhouses over the years. I wasn't sure I was up to making one from scratch.
Most 1:144 scale dollhouses come as a kit you have to assemble yourself. They take a lot of work. Just as much work as a one inch scale dollhouse. Sometimes more. Imagine making curtains small enough to fit those tiny windows.
So instead of making one from scratch, I bought one. If you want to see step by step how the artist made this amazing little house, check out the link below.
